Hello my name is Janine. I first started sewing when I was 10 and completed my first doll quilt in 2000. I have a love and passion for art and crafting. My mother taught me to sew and I have picked up a number of other creative hobbies from knitting and embroidery to nail art. Quilting has been a consistent passion throughout my life. Creating a quilt top is so exciting and there is a joy in designing and creating a piece of work with your own hands that’s hard to describe but so very powerful. With a quilt top finished, you must begin the arduous battle of pinning, rolling, and trying to maneuver an entire quilt through a standard home sewing machine. Piecing on a home sewing machine is fun and easy but trying to quilt anything is a struggle.
With a desire to expand my quilting capabilities - and the dream of sharing my passion with the quilting community - I invested in a Gammill Elevate longarm sewing machine in 2020.
I’ve created Queenie‘s Quilts to provide longarm quilting services to local and national quilters. I love making quilts and I would love to help you make yours.
